Akita International University

Akita International University (AIU) is a unique Japanese institution offering a Liberal Arts education where all courses are taught in English. Founded in 2004 with a focus on creating a multicultural learning environment, it boasts small class sizes with an average of 17 students and numerous clubs and events for an active student population.

AIU is located in the Tohoku region of Japan's large central island. This northern part of Japan is known for its scenic mountain vistas, especially under a fresh coat of winter snowfall.
