Sciences Po (Paris and regional campuses)

Sciences Po is an international research university, highly ranked in the fields of humanities and social sciences. The Undergraduate programme centres on six core courses within the humanities and social sciences - economics, law, history, humanities, political science and sociology.

Important note regarding campus allocations:

Although the agreement is with Sciences Po Paris, the institution has seven campuses, and places will be spread across each of these, depending on students' degree and course choices. Language requirements vary depending on campus and course selection.  

  • Students allocated a place through our Politics or our Law agreement with Sciences Po will be studying at their Paris campus. 
  • Students allocated a place through our French Language or our University-wide agreement with Sciences Po may be allocated to any of Sciences Po's campuses, including the regional campuses.

If you are applying through the French Language or the University-wide agreement you must be willing to study at a regional campus as we only have limited places available at the Paris campus. Sciences Po will allocate students to campuses based on preferences, course choices and availability.  

Subject-specific exchange

This exchange partner institution is available to students applying for Subject-specific exchange in the following subjects:

  • French
  • Law
  • Politics/International Relations, including PPE 

If you are studying one of the above subjects, you should apply through the Subject-specific exchange route.

University-wide exchange

Students in the following subject areas within the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS) may apply to this institution via the University-wide exchange:

  • History (singe honours)
  • History and Politics
  • Sustainable Development (single honours only)

Students currently enrolled within Edinburgh Future Institute can also apply through the University-wide exchange.

All University-wide applicants should check, before applying, that there are sufficient courses available in your subject area(s) and discuss your proposed choices with your School Exchange Coordinator.  

Restrictions

This is not a suitable destination for students in the following subject areas:
  • Economics
  • Philosophy
  • Social Anthropology
     
All students must meet the pre-requisite requirements for courses they wish to take.β€―It is understood that quota limitations, normal timetabling and scheduling constraints apply to all students.β€―

Teaching is available in English and French.  

French Language students will be expected to study in French.  Students on other Subject-specific exchanges in the subject areas listed in the previous section should be able to take a full course load in English at this institution.

Language requirements vary depending on campus and course selection.  

Sciences Po's Paris campus is mainly French speaking but it is possible for exchange students to take all their classes in English. The regional campuses such as Reims and Menton are mainly English speaking, but students can still take a few classes in French.

Students who want to take classes in French must have proof of a B2 level in French.

Accommodation in Paris is expensive and can be hard to find. Sciences Po do not offer any kind of student accommodation in Paris.  However, their student services can help students find accommodation in Paris. 

Accommodation is cheaper and easier to find on the regional campuses, especially in Reims.
