Charles University (CU), Univerzita Karlova in Czech, was founded in 1348, which makes it one of the oldest universities in the world. CU is ranked one of the world's top 300 universities and one of the 100 best universities in Europe. It is a publicly funded university offering a wide range of study programmes at all study levels at 17 faculties covering Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, Theology, Medicine and Natural Sciences.

Charles University provides a wide range of support and services to exchange students, such as accommodation in university dorms, the Intensive Czech Language Course, the Buddy programme, sports courses, and a comprehensive network of support for students with special needs, including psychological counselling.
