Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University combines a long and illustrious heritage with an innovative multidisciplinary mission.

Founded by Robert de Sorbon in the 13th century, it is now France's leading university in the humanities and social sciences. It cultivates a unique spirit that combines a demanding scientific approach with the ambition of developing new knowledge to support transforming the world. The University is located across 25 sites in the Paris region, and is also part of the Una Europa alliance with 11 other institutions (including the University of Edinburgh).   • History and Archaeology (UG/PhD)
    • This partner is not suitable for Classics
    • This partner is suitable for joint honours History and Politics students
  • Philosophy
  • History of Art

For History, classics and archaeology, and History of Art students:

  • Teaching is in French.  Students will be expected undertake teaching entirely in French at this institution so must meet minimum language requirements.

For Philosophy students:

  • Teaching is mainly in French but some classes in English may be available - please check the list of courses offered for more information.  You will not be able to take a full course load in English at this institution so must meet minimum language requirements.
