The Lysiak-Rudnytsky Ukrainian Studies Programme is a long-term programme to support projects in Ukrainian studies for research, educational, cultural institutions, and analytical centres abroad.

Call submission deadline: 7 May 2025

Timeframe: Projects to be completed within 10 months

Grants: up to $15,000 funding available. Co-financing of up to 30% of total project costs and collaboration with a Ukrainian partner institution will be considered advantageous.

Application focuses: 

  • Decolonising Knowledge about Ukraine 鈥 Rewriting Ukrainian culture and history from the perspective of decolonisation and undoing epistemic biases in global scholarship about Ukraine;
  • Ukraine and the World 鈥 Ukraine鈥檚 role in European and global cultures, history, and politics;
  • Crimean Tatar studies;
  • Intercultural Ukraine 鈥 History and culture of Ukraine鈥檚 diverse communities;
  • Independent Ukraine 鈥 History of Ukraine since 1991;
  • Resilient Ukraine 鈥 Russian war against Ukraine (2014 鈥) and resilience: social, cultural, security, political, environmental, and economic dimensions. 

A third open call will be announced in early summer 2025. Applications not selected in the first round may be revised and resubmitted for the later calls.
